This is India’s 12th Olympic medal in hockey. India has earlier won eight gold, one silver, and two bronze Olympic medals in hockey. The Indian team bounced back after going 0-1 in the first quarter. In the semi-final match, the Indian team did better in this match, taking lessons from the mistakes made against Belgium. Harmanpreet Singh, Hardik Singh, and Rupinder Pal Singh scored one goal each and Simranjit Singh scored two goals for India

After going 0-1 in the first quarter, the score was reduced to 3-3 in the second quarter. In the third quarter, the Indian team played a lot over Germany and the team also got the advantage.

In the third quarter, the Indian team retaliated strongly to make the score 5-3. At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Germany scored a goal to make the score 4-5. Sreejesh once again stunned Germany’s chances.

In the last three minutes, India gave Germany another penalty corner. Sreejesh and the Indian defenders did not let Germany take advantage of this opportunity. India had lost against Belgium in the semi-finals, while Germany was defeated by Australia.
