Big Ten Week Six Superlatives

NCAA Football: Michigan at Nebraska
Dylan Widger-USA TODAY Sports

A mostly quiet weekend in Big Ten land…

It was a quiet weekend in most of the Big Ten, with most programs off but there were still a handful of games to be played.

Best win: No. 3 Iowa def. No. 4 Penn State 23-20

No Penn State fan likes how it happened and we all have our thoughts on how it would’ve played out but at the end of the day, a win is a win. For Iowa, it’s a top-5 win. It’s the best win of the weekend.

Most convincing win: Wisconsin def. Illinois 24-0

Some may point to Ohio State’s 66-14 win over Maryland but Wisconsin’s 24-0 win over Illinois was actually the most dominating statistically.

Most heartbreaking loss: Nebraska falls to Michigan 32-29

Penn State could be put here but it feels most knew once Sean Clifford left that he Nittany Lions wouldn’t be able to hold on. If anything it was a slow, agonizing pain loss than heartbreaking. Nebraska, on the other hand. Seemed to be just plays away from upsetting Michigan and then Adrian Martinez coughed up the ball eventually leading to Michigan’s game winning field goal. Nebraska is now 5-16 in one score games under Scott Frost.

Player of the Week: RB Kenneth Walker III

Walker is making a huge argument as the nation’s top running back after posting more dominating numbers this past weekend against Rutgers. He finished with 29 carries for 232-yards, and a touchdown.
