When Indiana defense end Joshua Mickens visited Ohio State and subsequently decommitted from LSU, many thought his next stop would be to Columbus. He has long held the idea of making that pledge during the All-American Bowl All-Star game, but earlier this week decided to nix those plans and made his announcement today, on the first official early signing day period.
Those rumors became official today, as Mickens has made his commitment and has signed with the Buckeyes. It’s a big win for head coach Ryan Day and defensive line coach Larry johnson, as they are keeping one of the best Midwest players in the region and “flipping” him, even if not the traditional way, from an SEC school.

Mickens joins a group of commits that rank among the best in the country and should eventually make his mark during his time in Columbus.
