Breaking: Half of Ohio State’s quarterback battle out for spring game

||

The culmination of spring practices for Ohio State is this Saturday as the Scarlet will face the Gray in the LiFEsports Spring game.

It was supposed to give up a glimpse of the quarterback battle between Kyle McCord and Devin Brown. Unfortunately for Brown, he won’t be able to play in the scrimmage.

It has been reported that the second-year player will miss the game due to an injury to a finger on his right hand. It was severe enough that it forced him to have a procedure.

There is good news though. It does seem very minor and sounds like it shouldn’t linger into the fall. However, in a tight battle — if that’s what we have — missing time and an ability to showcase yourself in a live scrimmage setting in the ‘Shoe isn’t how a starting job is normally drawn up.

Brown took to Twitter to let Buckeye Nation know that he’ll be back.

It’s unfortunate that we won’t get to see Brown toss around the football on Saturday, but this isn’t the season and there is no need to play through any injuries.
