Florida joins recruiting race for 4-star wide receiver

||

The Florida Gators have extended a scholarship offer to Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California) wide receiver Marcus Harris, according to a social media post from him on Monday.

Harris, a member of the class of 2025, is a top 50 recruit and one of the best pass catchers in the nation. He hauled in 25 receptions for 644 yards and 12 touchdowns through 13 games as a sophomore. He helped lead the Monarchs to a second-place finish in the CIF Southern Sectional, which explains the nationwide interest in him entering his junior year.

An injury forced him to miss the bulk of his sophomore track season, but Harris showed elite speed as a freshman, clocking an 11.14-second 100-meter sprint.

A laundry list of Power Five programs has already reached out to Harris. Oregon, Oklahoma and Texas are thought to be the three programs best positioned to land him, according to the On3 recruiting prediction machine, but there’s plenty of time for things to change.

Harris a consensus four-star recruit, ranked highest by On3 at No. 32 overall in the class of 2025. The On3 industry ranking, which uses a weighted average of all four major services, puts him at No. 41 nationally and No. 8 among wide receivers in the class. He’s also the fifth-best recruit from the state of California.
