The linebacker was all over the place in Saturday’s game against Ohio State.

Have you noticed hearing the name Curtis Jacobs more frequently as of late when the Penn State defense is on the field? The second-year linebacker has been quietly improving from week-to-week and is suddenly emerging as a standout on a defense littered with talent. Now, he’s put together his best performance against the nation’s top-rated offense in the national spotlight.

Jacobs was impossible to miss against the Buckeyes. His play was crucial to help slow down the Buckeyes rushing attack, led by the incredibly explosive TreVeyon Henderson. Jacobs seemed to impact just about every play, staying disciplined in containment while attacking to disrupt plays throughout the evening.

Jacobs led the way with two TFLs, and was second on the team with seven tackles, with five of those being solo. The five-star linebacker helped make a name for himself in front of a national audience - the first of likely many big-game performances on a big-time stage.

Others Considered

WR Parker Washington - The Buckeyes defense focused on slowing down Doton initially, but likely for Penn State, they have another premiere receiver who can hurt the Buckeyes just the same. Parker answered the call and produced several crucial plays, finishing with 108 receiving yards on nine catches.

WR Jahan Dotson - Dotson sure knows how to cause fits for the Buckeyes secondary. The nation’s best receiver had a big night with 11 catches for 127 yards.

QB Sean Clifford - There aren’t many tougher than #14. The Nittany Lion gunslinger kept responding to every Buckeyes score, keeping Penn State into the game until the very end. Despite coming off an injury, he was able to burn the Buckeyes defense for 361 yards passing and a touchdown.
