Florida softball was dominated by the top-seeded Texas Longhorns, 10-0, in one of the Women’s College World Series winner’s bracket games Saturday night.
Gators starter Keagan Rothrock lasted just 14 pitches before getting pulled for Ava Brown, who kept the Longhorns scoreless in the second and third but could not prevent the deluge in the fourth. Mackenzie Wooten failed in relief of Brown before Olivia Miller got out of the inning.
Katie Kistler notched Florida’s only hit of the day in the top of the fifth, ruining the Longhorns starter’s shot at a truncated no-hitter.
