Multiple programs trying to flip Ohio State 2025 wide receiver commit

||

Many were surprised when Ohio State football took a commitment from a wide receiver that wasn’t highly ranked, considering the amount of talent that is in the room.

Well, fast forward to the end of February, and you now see why the Buckeyes accepted the verbal of Florida receiver Jayvan Boggs. The 6-foot, 188-pound pass catcher won his state’s Mr. Football player of the year after accounting for 1,500 yards and 24 touchdowns.

It was not surprising to see Boggs recruiting rankings rise, as he began as the No. 362 overall player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings but has risen all the way up to No. 195 after the most recent update.

On Tuesday, two schools, Georgia and Notre Dame, have offered Boggs a scholarship, but only one of them is a legit contender to flip him from the Buckeyes. The Bulldogs, according to this report by 247Sports Steve Wiltfong (subscription required), are the team to watch out for. Boggs told him that he still has to “build (a) relationship with them but looking forward” to doing so with their staff.

The good news from the report is that Boggs also said he’s “still very confident and locked in with Ohio State!” This is still a recruitment to monitor, as with most Florida prospects, a verbal is just who is on top of their recruitment until they actually sign with a school.
