Ohio State baseball sweeps weekend, gets above .500 again

||

It has been a back-and-forth early portion of the season for Ohio State baseball, and it finally made a push to get over the .500 mark this past weekend.

While playing in the Las Vegas College Baseball Classic, the Buckeyes won on Friday night, 9-4, over California and then Saturday’s game against Pittsburgh was canceled due to inclement weather.

The finale on Sunday was a nail bitter, as Ohio State rallied late, scoring 2-runs in the top of the 9th to defeat Oklahoma 4-3 and return to Columbus with a series victory.

Multiple Buckeyes were honored for their play this weekend as Colin Purcell, Henry Kaczmar, Trey Lipsey, and Landon Beidelschies were all honored on the All-Tournament team.

The two wins put the Buckeyes at 6-4 early in the year, with a 4-game series at Cal Poly set for next weekend.
