Ohio State guard Jacy Sheldon goes No. 5 in WNBA Draft

||

One of the best to ever lace ’em up in Scarlet and Gray just saw her dreams come true. Ohio State guard, Jacy Sheldon, has been drafted by the Dallas Wings with the No. 5 overall pick in the WNBA Draft.

A local product from nearby Dublin, Ohio, Sheldon quickly became a fan favorite and the heart and soul of the women’s basketball team. The Buckeyes experienced great success with Sheldon running the show winning 113 games to just 40 losses while making runs to the Sweet 16 in 2022 and Elite Eight in 2023.

The scrappy guard came back for a fifth season using her COVID year of eligibility. While the team bowed out of the NCAA tournament much earlier than expected, it was still an outstanding season. The women were the regular season Big Ten champions and were ranked as high as No. 2 in the nation for a good portion of the year. Sheldon would also surpass 2,000 career points.

Buckeye Nation will miss seeing No. 4 on the court for the Buckeyes, but we feel confident that she’s going to do great things in Dallas for years to come in the WNBA.
