After a strong weekend against the Kansas Jayhawks, Oklahoma softball swept the weekly Big 12 honors, the conference announced on Tuesday. Jayda Coleman was named Big 12 Player of the Week and Jordy Bahl Big 12 Pitcher of the Week.
Coleman and Bahl were pivotal in helping the Sooners secure their 11th-straight Big 12 title.
Oklahoma outscored the Jayhawks 30-2 in the three-game sweep. They enter the last week of the regular season 45-1 and on a 37-game winning streak.
Coleman was a dominant presence against the Jayhawks, recording two doubles, two home runs, and six runs batted in. She also scored five runs, collected 14 total bases, stole a base, and drew a walk.
The weekly honor was the second of the year for Coleman and the third of her career.
Bahl earned weekly honors with 6.2 innings scoreless innings across her two appearances. She threw a complete game shutout against the Jayhawks on Friday night in the Sooners’ 8-0 win over Kansas. She allowed just four hits and no walks and recorded seven strikeouts. In the series and Big 12 clinching finale, Bahl came in and threw 1.2 innings and allowed just one hit, no walks, and struck out three Jayhawks.
Bahl has gone 36.2 innings pitched without allowing a run. She hasn’t allowed a run over her last eight appearances, including five starts. Her last earned run allowed came on March 31 against the Texas Longhorns.
This Jordy Bahl’s second Pitcher of the Week award of 2023 and the fifth of her career.

The sweep marks the second time in 2023 that the Sooners have taken home both the Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week awards in the same week.
