Penn State Football Commits in Action: Postseason Play Begins and Regular Seasons Conclude

Future Nittany Lion players have started postseason play across the country, with others ready to kick off postseason play this weekend

Quarterback Drew Allar and the Medina (OH) Battling Bees kicked off their postseason run with a 54-0 victory. Allar went 14/17 for 273 yards and 5 touchdowns before his night ended midway through the second quarter with the Bees rolling.

Staying in the state of Ohio wide receiver Kaden Saunders and the Westerville South Wildcats started their postseason run with a 32-10 victory. Saunders had 2 receptions for 38 yards, and had 114 all-purpose yards between receiving, punt returns and kick returns.

Beau Pribula helped lead the Central York Panthers to a 60-14 victory and a 10-0 regular season. Pribula was 13/21 for 168 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception. Pribula also rushed for 70 yards and 2 scores in the victory.

Running back Nick Singleton and the Governor Mifflin Mustangs also finished off an undefeated regular season. In a 42-13 victory over Berks Catholic the nation’s top running back rushed for 101 yards and 3 touchdowns. Singleton finished the regular season with 1,499 yards rushing and 32 total touchdowns.

In a tough 28-20 loss against Carlisle, Mehki Flowers had 4 receptions for 194 yards and a touchdown for Central Dauphin East. Flowers and the Panthers will return to the field this weekend against Hempfield.

Wide receiver Anthony Ivey and Manheim Township capped off their regular season with a 21-14 loss against Wilson. Ivey had 2 receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown in the loss. After falling to 6-4 on the season, Ivey and the Blue Streaks will clash with Pribula and Central York in the first-round of the playoffs this Friday.

Offensive lineman Drew Shelton and Dowingtown West finished their season at 5-5 following a 33-6 victory over Avon Grove. Shelton and a tackle for a loss in the game and his blocking helped pave the way for 348 yards rushing.

Down in the Sunshine State, defensive lineman Zane Durant and Lake Nona picked up a 40-0 victory to improve to 6-3 on the season. The big fella, who has been a dominant force on the defensive line this season, had a 15-yard touchdown run. On the season he has 33 quarterback hurries, 23 TFLs, 13 sacks, and 4 forced fumbles.

Staying in Florida, running back Kaytron Allen and IMG Academy defeated Auburn (AL) High School 27-17. Allen carried the ball 24 times for 143 yards and 3 touchdowns in the victory. The Nittany Lions will be bringing in a heck of a running back duo in Singleton and Allen.

2023 cornerback commit Lamont Payne and the Chartiers Valley Colts fell 34-27 to Montour, to finish their season with a 4-6 record. Payne had 4 receptions for 23 yards and 5 tackles to cap off his junior campaign. Payne finished the season with 372 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns, as well as 27 tackles and an interception on defense. You can checkout his junior season highlights below.

Staying with 2023 commits, Mega Barnwell and the Riverbend (VA) Bears defeated Stafford High School 35-0. Barnwell’s highlights from the victory are below.
