Nittany Lions re-enter the top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings.
A New Year’s Six berth is nearly guaranteed at this point. The Penn State Nittany Lions come in at No. 10 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings. Barring pandemonium, they will finish out the reason in the top 10 when the final rankings come out on Sunday.
Iowa, Michigan, and Ohio State are the other Big Ten teams in the rankings at 16, 2, and 6 respectively. The latter’s drop in the rankings comes as a result of their third consecutive loss to Michigan, who will face the Hawkeyes for the Big Ten title on Saturday.
The Lions are rumored to be headed to Atlanta for the Peach bowl, as it’s one of the few bowl games Penn State has yet to participate in. Depending on how championship weekend plays out, the Lions could face anyone from Alabama to Tulane.
The College Football Playoff Selection Show will air on Sunday starting at noon. Penn State’s destination will be known then.
