The Nittany Lions were for some reason jumped by Michigan, who was also on a bye week?
Penn State came in at No. 7 in this week’s AP Poll after getting jumped by the Michigan Wolverines, who moved from No. 8 to No. 6.
The Nittany Lions are one of four Big Ten teams in the Top-10 joining Ohio State at No. 5, the aforementioned Wolverines at No. 6, and Michigan State at No. 9.
Additionally, in this week’s coaches poll, the Nittany Lions were ranked No. 8, behind the Big Ten trio of Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State taking the No. 5 to No. 7 rankings.
Notably, the Iowa Hawkeyes, who were ranked No. 2 in last week’s AP Poll following their win over the Nittany Lions, fell to No. 11 in the country after being exposed by Purdue 24-7. The Boilermakers entered the Top-25 this week after their win. No other Big Ten teams received votes in this week’s poll.
Following the bye week, Penn State will be back on the field on Saturday afternoon at Beaver Stadium when they take on the Illinois Fighting Illini.
