Florida football lost a hard-fought affair against the LSU Tigers on Saturday night in Baton Rouge in a game that the Gators were simply outgunned by a superior opponent.
The central focus of the evening was quarterback Jayden Daniels’ historic offensive outburst, proving to be a one-man wrecking crew against a paltry Florida defense that struggled to contain him and his teammates. His final numbers were absurd and certainly gave him a big boost in the Heisman Trophy race.
On the other hand, Billy Napier’s boys saw some solid contributions, including a 100-plus-yard receiving game by Ricky Pearsall and a 99-yard effort from running back Trevor Etienne. Quarterback Graham Mertz also put together another boilerplate effort as well.
