They say that all good things come to an end, and unfortunately for the Florida Gators, its run through the Southeastern Conference Tournament finally stalled out against the Auburn Tigers on Sunday afternoon in Nashville, Tennessee.
Despite a valiant effort by Todd Golden’s team, they just did not have enough to overcome Bruce Pearl and his team’s stifling defense, falling 86-67 and one win short of the SEC postseason crown.
The Gainesville gang lost center Micah Handlogten early on to a grisly leg fracture but still managed to press on in the absence of their cherished teammate. However, the good version of the Orange and Blue simply ran out of gas in the second half as the Tigers pulled away.
