Notes and Thoughts:

  • The offensive line rotation stayed the same throughout the entire game for the first time this season.
  • Nick Singleton had only 31 snaps but had only 9 carries. Did Matt Canada replace Mike Yurcich in the booth on Saturday?
  • I can’t say enough about the defense. They proved their salt with Chop Robinson only playing 24 of the 79 snaps. I hope Robinson makes a return soon.
  • The growth at defensive tackle has not been mentioned enough. Everyone said Penn State was undersized at DT and could not compete with Ohio State and Michigan. I thought the DTs played very well, helping hold the Buckeyes to under 2 yards per carry.
  • The season is not over. Assuming Penn State gets by Indiana and Maryland, the showdown with Michigan at Beaver Stadium still looms large. And with the cheating scandal at Michigan gaining steam every day, it could be a distraction for the Wolverines.
