Super Sooners: Best photos of Oklahoma Sooners during Super Bowl week

||

The Oklahoma Sooners led the way in number of alumni participating in this year’s Super Bowl. There were six former Sooners who participated in the game won by the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime.

James Winchester and Blake Bell won their third Super Bowl while Creed Humprey won his second consecutive. Wanya Morris earned his first ring during his rookie season with the Chiefs.

It was the first time a team had won consecutive Super Bowl titles since the New England Patriots accomplished the feat in 2004 and 2005. The Chiefs’ third title in five seasons puts them in rarified air.

Since 1990, only the Dallas Cowboys and Patriots have won three Super Bowls in four years. Now Kansas City will attempt to do something that’s neer been done before: win three consecutive Super Bowls. With Patrick Mahomes at the helm, there’s no doubt they’ll have a shot to do so.

On San Francisco’s side, Trent Williams had another fantastic performance. He’ll go down as one of the best offensive tackles in the history of the game. Brayden Willis earned playing time at tight end for the 49ers, who looked to have the game in hand early before Mahomes and the Chiefs stormed back in the second half.

Though the game started slow, it was a fantastic contest with twists and turns in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Here are some of the best photos of Sooners in the Super Bowl and the week leading up to it.
