Barcelona will welcome Elche at the Nou Camp this Saturday afternoon as they look to put in a good performance and bag all three points from this La Liga clash. The Catalan giants suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in midweek which has somewhat drained their confidence ahead of this game.
Xavi will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make some changes to his starting XI for this game. Frenkie de Jong and Ferran Torres will probably play from the start in this game. Barcelona has no fresh injury problems to cope with ahead of this contest.
4-3-3 Barcelona Predicted Lineup To Face Elche
Defence
Marc-André ter Stegen will operate in between the sticks for the Catalan outfit after conceding a couple of goals in midweek. Jules Kounde could partner Ronald Araujo at the centre of Barcelona’s backline as they focus on securing a clean sheet during the 90 minutes.
Alex Balde will fill in at left-back while Hector Bellerin looks to put his pace to good use as the right-back. Xavi will ask both of them to defend their penalty box well and offer adequate support to the front players.
Andreas Christensen will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he provides cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Pedri, Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong will make up the Barca midfield as they focus on dominating possession at the centre of the park and engineer some clear-cut chances to win this game. Both De Jong and Pedri would have to carry most of the creative burden for Barca in the opponent’s half.
Gavi and Franck Kessie will be named on the bench but might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if Xavi decides to call upon their services.
Attack
Ousmane Dembele will get another chance to shine down the left flank while Ferran Torres will hope to catch the eye on the other side as the right-sided wide player.
Robert Lewandowski will spearhead Barca’s attack in the final third. The Poland international will be hungry to get his name on the scoresheet versus Elche this weekend.
Raphinha, Memphis Depay and Ansu Fati will have to settle for a place on the bench as they wait for their opportunity to impress in the latter stages if Barca are in need of a goal by then.
