Arsenal in pole position to sign €36m-rated Serie A forward

The London giants have emerged as the frontrunner in the pursuit of Dejan Kulusevski. The Juventus winger is expected to leave the Bianconeri in the upcoming winter transfer window, with the Old Lady expecting an offer of nearly €35m.

Arsenal and Tottenham are among the teams involved in the battle to add Sweden international. But it appears Arsenal have taken the lead, as the Spanish manager seems to land his first big acquisition for the January transfer window.

Arsenal is yet to make an official attempt to meet Juventus’ €35m demands. But recent reports had suggested they were willing to fork out €30m for Kulusevski, which is hardly surprising as the Gunners are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements next month.

The goalscoring department, in particular, has proven to be a problem for the Gunners amid uncertainties surrounding the future of Aubameyang. The African striker has fallen out of favour on and off the pitch, thus leading to speculations linking him to a move to Newcastle, among many other teams around Europe.

Dejan fits the bill perfectly despite his struggles at Bianconeri in recent years. The 21-year-old winger has showcased a lot of potential in Italy, particularly with his pace, versatility and technical prowess.

It could make him a perfect solution for the Spanish manager’s attacking woes, although it stays to be seen whether the Swedish winger can thrive in the physical nature of the PL.
