Arsenal now free to complete five-year deal for 33-goal star Klopp says ‘is really, really good’

It seems that Newcastle United have handed the likes of Arsenal a boost in their chase to complete a deal for Darwin Nunez

Despite the fact the transfer window is still many months away there is still alot of speculation in the media about the type of players that Arteta will get to bring to the club, and how much the board will hand him in the transfer window

Now we all know that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is enjoying himself over at Barcelona after leaving the club in the January transfer window, and Alexandre Lacazette will be out of contract at the end of the season, meaning that Arteta will need a new striker

There has already been a number of players linked with a move to the Emirates, but now it seems that Arsenal have started making moves to try and secure a bargain £60 million deal for the impressing Nunez

His first season in Portugal saw him score 14 times as he bedded into new surroundings, but this term Nunez has emerged as a star, bagging 33 goals in 38 appearances for Benfica.

However, it seemed that Newcastle were also going to make a move for the man, and with the kind of funds that they have, the Gunners may have been priced out of a possible move for the hitman

But According to The Telegraph, Newcastle were hoping to sign the Uruguayan at the end of the season but will now end their interest in him as they believe he will move to a club qualified for the Champions League.

Speaking after Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final clash with Benfica earlier this month, Jurgen Klopp tipped Nunez to have a successful career.

He said: ‘Really good, really good. He (Nunez) played pretty much in front of me, with his tough battles with Ibou Konate.

‘Physically strong, quick, was calm with his finish. If he stays healthy, it’s a big career ahead of him.’
