Bangladesh suffer double blow ahead of ODI series against India | BANvsIND

Xtra Time Web Desk: Bangladesh suffered a double blow ahead of their ODI series against India as skipper Tamim Iqbal is ruled out for the series, starting on Sunday, owing to a groin injury, while speedster Taskin Ahmed has been side lined for the opener due to a recurring back problem.

A source close to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) informed that it may take two weeks for the Bangladesh ODI captain to recover, which would also see him ruled out of the first Test.

Tamim suffered his groin injury while playing in a warm-up match on Wednesday, while Taskin pulled out from a Bangladesh Cricket League match on November 20.

Bangladesh Cricket Board is yet to officially announce the name of the captain who will replace Tamim. But according to sources Shakib Al Hasan is likely to be given the responsibility to lead the Tigers’ ODI squad. Shakib is already the captain of Bangladesh in test and T20 format.
