Xtra Time Web Desk: Records tumbled on Day 1 of the first test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium as England posted a mammoth 506/4. Four English batters scored centuries including Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Harry Brook and Ollie Pope.

The previous record for most runs on the first day of a test match was the 494 Australia accumulated against South Africa in Sydney in 1910. This is the highest-ever score registered by any team in the history of Test cricket on the opening day, breaking a 112-year-old record.
This Test match also saw another record being created as it was the first time in the history of a Test match that four batters hit centuries on the first day. England openers Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley hit tons while later in the day Ollie Pope and Harry Brook too brought up their hundreds, helping England post the record total on Day 1.
