Xtra Time Web Desk: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly backed the Indian players despite losing the ICC World Test Championship Final 2023 against Australia recently at the Oval. During a fun-raising event for a NGO Pratham UK at the Lords, Sourav heaped loads of praises on Shubman Gill, saying he can climb mountains given the talent he possesses. He also praised Ravindra Jadeja.

On being asked whether the Indian players were not prepared enough for the WTC Final as they played in the IPL, Sourav said each player in the Indian team takes a pride in playing for the country. According to Sourav, IPL is huge in India but when it comes to playing for India, no other teams is bigger.

Sourav was the chief guest in the event organised at the Pelham Room in Lords. The NGO also organised a charity auction, the funds raised will be used for imparting education to poor, underprivileged children in India especially girl child. Sourav too will contribute for the noble cause.

Talking about Pratham UK, it is one of the largest education NGOs in the United Kingdom working for various social activities in and around UK.

The Indian team led by Rohit Sharma were totally outplayed by Australia in the WTC Final played at the Oval from June 7-11, losing the test match by 209 runs.
