Xtra Time Web Desk: Virat Kohli and his boys are leaving no stone unturned ever since reaching Durham on Friday. The Indian cricketers had a second full net session at the Riverside Durham ahead of the three day practice game against County Select XI from July 20. The Indian players will play another intra squad match before they travel to Nottingham for the first test match of the series at Trentbridge.
BCCI on Saturday shared photos of India’s first net session ahead of the England series. “Snapshots from TeamIndia‘s nets session here at the Durham County Cricket Club. #TeamIndia,” BCCI wrote in the caption.
In the photos, India captain Virat Kohli, opening batsman Rohit Sharma, Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara and KL Rahul can be seen batting in the nets while India off-spinner R Ashwin, veteran pacer Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj can be seen bowling. (ENG vs IND)
KL Rahul is expected to keep wickets for India in the practice match as Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha have not travelled with the squad. They are still isolating in London. Pant was tested positive for COVID-19 along with throw down specialist Dayanand Garani. Wriddhiman Saha, bowling coach Bharat Arun and Abhimanyu Easwaran are isolating as they came in close contact with Garani.
The first test between India and England will start at Trentbridge in Nottingham from August 4.
