
Xtra Time Web Desk: Experienced Indian table tennis player Sharath Kamal entered the third round of men’s singles event at Tokyo Olympics with a win over Portugal’s Tiago Polonia on Monday. He won the match 2-11 11-8 11-5 9-11 11-6 11-9 in the second-round that lasted 49 minutes.
The veteran paddler had a poor start losing the first game 2-11. But the 39 year old came back strongly to win the next two games 11-8and 11-5. The Portugese drew level in the fourth game with a score of 11-9. But the experienced Indian player won the final two games 11-6 and 11-9 to cruise into the third round.
Sharath Kamal, who is participating in his fourth Olympics, will now take on reigning world champion Ma Long.
