
Xtra Time Web Desk: The India Sri Lanka white ball series will start from July 18. The postponement in the start of the series is due to the COVID-19 cases in the Sri Lankan camp. The series was supposed to start from July 13. The three ODIs will now be played on July 18, 20 & 23 respectively. The dates for three T20Is will be July 25, 27 & 29. All the matches are to be played at the R Premadasa stadium.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah confirmed that the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka has been postponed and will begin on July 18 instead of July 13 due to COVID-19 cases in the Sri Lanka camp. A day after Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) put forward a proposal to reschedule the series, Shah confirmed the development to ANI.
Sri Lanka’s batting Coach Grant Flower and video analyst GT Niroshan tested positive for COVID-19. The duo has been isolating themselves from the rest of the squad.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan team has been shifted from Taj Samudra to Cinamon Grand hotel on Saturday morning.
