India tour to England 2022: Mayank Agarwal added to India’s Test squad

Xtra Time Web Desk: The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Mayank Agarwal to India’s Test squad for the rescheduled fifth Test as cover for captain Rohit Sharma, who tested positive for COVID-19. Mayank has reached Birmingham on Monday.

India captain Rohit Sharma played in the tour game against Leicestershire. He scored 25 in India’s first innings but didn’t bat in the second innings. BCCI confirmed that he had tested positive on Sunday.

India is leading the test series 2-1. The rescheduled fifth test will be played at Edgbaston cricket ground starting July 01.

India’s Test squad: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Hanuma Vihari, Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant (wk), KS Bharat (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Shardul Thakur, Mohd Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Mayank Agarwal

India will also play three T20Is and three ODIs on the tour apart from the Test matches.
