IPL 2021: Shreyas Iyer, T Natarajan share important injury update, targets this tournament for return

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India cricketers Shreyas Iyer and T Natarajan shared important injury updates on Tuesday. Both Shreyas and Natarajan targets the upcoming IPL 2021 Phase 2 in UAE for their return to cricket.  Mumbai Indians’ middle order batsman Shreyas suffered a shoulder injury during the ODI series against England earlier this year and as a result had to miss the IPL 2021 leg in India.

“My shoulder, yes, I think the healing process is done. Now it’s the last stage of achieving strength and range. So that’s going to take about a month and the training is obviously going on. Other than that, I feel, I will be there in the IPL,” Iyer said on The Grade Cricketer’s Podcast.

Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler T Natarajan played just two matches in IPL 2021 leg in India before getting ruled out. The left arm medium pacer from Salem is also targeting the IPL in UAE.

 “I am progressing well after the surgery. I have started training slowly. I will start bowling at full tilt in the nets by the end of this month. My focus right now is on recovering fully and returning by the time the IPL restarts,” Natarajan told New Indian Express on Monday.

“I am thinking more about my recovery. If I do well in the IPL, the chance to be selected for the T20 World Cup will come on its own. That is my belief. But for that, my recovery needs to be spot on,” he added.
