IPL 2023: Nitish Rana fined for this offence in the game against Punjab Kings

Xtra Time Web Desk: Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their Indian Premier League (IPL 2023) match against Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens on Monday. The Knight Riders registered a thrilling 5-wicket win to stay in the race for a place in the PlayOffs spot.

As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Rana was fined Rs. 12 lakhs.

Rinku Singh turned out to be the saviour for KKR once again as he hit the winning boundary off the last ball to power his side to a thrilling 5 wickets win against Punjab Kings in the IPL 2023 match at Eden Gardens on Monday. Andre Russell too came good with the bat to score 42 off 23 balls. Rinku remained not out on 21* off 10 balls. The win sees the Knight Riders jump to fifth spot with 10 points from 11 matches and keep them in the hunt for a playoff berth.
