
Xtra Time Web Desk: Virat Kohli slammed his sixth hundred (100 off 63 balls) in IPL to guide Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to 8 wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Thursday. Chasing 187 runs to win RCB captain Faf du Plessis also smashed 47 ball 71 as the duo put on an opening stand of 172 runs. Glenn Maxwell and Michael Bracewell were not out on 5 & 4 respectively as the visitors romped home with 4 balls to spare.
Virat was eventually dismissed after he reached his hundred, caught by Glenn Philips of the bowling of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. His innings was studded with 12 hits to the fence and 4 sixes. Kohli also equalled Chris Gayle’s record of the most IPL hundreds.
Earlier, Heinrich Klaasen blazed his way to his maiden IPL ton (104 off 51 balls) to power the home team to 186/5. The Proteas batter smashed 8 fours and 6 sixes in his knock.
The win saw RCB leapfrog Mumbai Indians to fourth spot in IPL 2023 points table with one game remaining. Both RCB and MI now has 14 points from 13 games.
