Scoring a double century in ODI matches is like a dream. It is the desire of any batsman that he should score the most runs for his team.

Today we are going to talk about such a men batsman who has scored the fastest double century in ODI.

The day of 24 February is written in golden letters in the history of cricket. On this day 11 years ago, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar scored the first double century of ODI cricket. Exactly five years later, on this day, ‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle scored the first double century in World Cup history against Zimbabwe. It was also a big coincidence that both the players played the same number of balls in their innings.

Till now 8 batsmen have scored double centuries in ODI cricket. Sachin Tendulkar is the first batsman who scored the first double century in the ODI  cricket match in the year 2010. Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman is the last batsman to score a double century in One Day Internationals. Fakhar did this feat against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo.

Rohit Sharma is the only player who scored a most double century in ODI cricket, he scored 3 double centuries. Rohit Sharma is at first place in the list of the highest individual run-scorer in ODIs, Rohit has scored the highest 264 runs against Srilanka.

Chris Gayle is the first man to score the fastest double century in an ODI World Cup – a feat he achieved against Zimbabwe during the 2015 World Cup.

Gayle had made such a record by completing his double hundred in just 138 balls, which no player has been able to break so far. In this match, Chris Gayle scored 215 the highest individual runs in 147 balls including 10 fours and 16 sixes against Zimbabwe.

2. Sachin Tendulkar

The God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar scored his 1st double century in ODI and created history on 24 February 2010 at the Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior. In this match against South Africa, Sachin scored an unbeaten 200 runs in 147 balls with the help of 25 fours and 3 sixes.

Along with this, he also broke the record of the highest score in ODIs almost 13 years old. Sachin broke the record of 194 runs both of Saeed Anwar of Pakistan and Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe and he becomes the world’s first batsman to score a double century in ODI cricket.

3. Virender Sehwag

Sehwag scored a double hundred in the fourth ODI against the Windies 10 years ago i.e. on 8 December 2011. At that time Sehwag became the second player in the world to score the highest individual double century in One Day Internationals. Sehwag scored a double century in just 140 balls against West Indies in ODIs.

In this match, Sehwag scored 219 runs in 149 balls at the Holkar Stadium in Indore, which included 25 fours and 7 sixes. Sehwag also broke the record of master blaster Sachin Tendulkar during this period. Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 200 runs against South Africa on February 24, 2010.

4. Rohit Sharma

In the year 13 Dec 2017, Rohit had scored a double century for the third time in his career. Rohit had scored an unbeaten 208 runs against Sri Lanka, in this match Rohit completed his double hundred by playing just 151 balls. Rohit scored runs in this match at a strike rate of 135.94 by hitting 13 fours and 12 sixes. Rohit made this record as a stand-in captain against Sri Lanka in Mohali.

India scored 392 runs for 4 wickets due to Rohit’s unbeaten innings of 208 runs, after which the Lanka team could only manage 251 runs for 8 wickets and lost the match by 141 runs.

5. Fakhar Zaman

Pakistan’s opener Fakhar Zaman made a record against Zimbabwe, which has not been made by any Pakistani batsman before. Fakhar Zaman scored his first double hundred for Pakistan in ODI cricket while performing brilliantly against Zimbabwe.

Fakhar completed his double century against Zimbabwe in 156 balls. During his innings, he hit 24 fours and 5 sixes. This is the total 8th double century in ODI cricket.

6. Rohit Sharma

On 2 November 2013, Rohit Sharma scored the first double hundred of his ODI career. At the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, Rohit Sharma scored 209 runs in 158 balls with the help of 12 fours and 16 sixes in the seventh and final ODI of the series against Australia.

Both India and Australia teams together had scored a total of 38 sixes in this match, which became a new record. Rohit Sharma had hit 16 sixes, which was a record. He had left Shane Watson (15 sixes) behind. The Indian team had hit a total of 19 sixes, which was a record. Earlier, the maximum number of sixes in other teams was 18. R Vinay Kumar made the record by spending 102 runs. He proved to be the most expensive bowler in ODIs.

Wellington, March 21: New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill scored a double century in the quarter-final match of the ICC World Cup-2015 against West Indies at the Westpac Stadium. In this match, Guptill played an unbeaten 237 runs in 163 balls with 24 fours and 11 sixes.

Guptill played the highest individual innings for New Zealand. Earlier his highest total was 189 runs and now he has gone ahead breaking his own record.

8. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma scored the highest 264 runs against Sri Lanka in the year 2014 at the Eden Gardens ground. Rohit had hit 33 fours and 9 sixes in his innings. And by making these 264 runs, he became the batsman to score the highest individual score of ODI in the world.

With this, he became the first batsman to score two double centuries in ODI. After that, he also planted the third. Rohit scored 186 runs out of 264 against Sri Lanka with fours and sixes.
