Pep Guardiola set to be without Manchester City Ace for 10 days after Positive COVID-19 test

Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City’s outstanding offensive midfielder, tested positive for Covid-19 during the international break and will be sidelined for 10 days, according to manager Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola acknowledged that De Bruyne has been vaccinated and that his symptoms are currently modest during his press conference.

“Unfortunately, Kevin received a positive covid test in Belgium and will be out for ten days,” Guardiola explained

“He was, of course, vaccinated, so he is now better protected. Hopefully, the symptoms will be modest, and he will be able to return.”

De Bruyne will miss the home matches against Everton, PSG, and West Ham over the next week if he is required to serve the full 10-day quarantine, with a possible comeback away at Aston Villa on December 1.

City will be hoping that the 30-year-old can give two negative tests and return to play sooner rather than later.

City currently leads Group A in the Champions League, but a loss to Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG could drop them to second.
