Rohit & co reach Bengaluru to take part in camp at NCA for upcoming Asia Cup 2023

Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian cricketers will begin their preparations for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 at the NCA from Thursday. The camp will be attended by the entire squad including the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya.

Following their return from Ireland, players such as Sanju Samson, Prasidh Krishna, and Jasprit Bumrah are set to join the camp in the next few days. The training camp is scheduled to run until August 29th.

Notably, only members of the Asia Cup 2023 squad are participating in this camp, which will focus on specific skillset. With the team having not played together in ODIs since July 2022, the primary emphasis during the camp will be on match simulations. This will allow the players to regain their rhythm and adapt to the slow pitches expected in Kandy and Colombo, where the Asia Cup matches will be held.

Furthermore, the coaching staff will work on defining specific roles for each member of the squad, ensuring that everyone understands their responsibilities and can contribute effectively to India’s campaign in the tournament.
