Shakib Al Hasan wears Argentina jersey with Lionel Messi’s name during Bangladesh training ahead of 2nd test | BANvIND

Xtra Time Web Desk: It is no more an open secret as Bangladesh test captain Shakib al Hasan is a huge fan of Argentine superstar Lionel Messi. The 35-year-old all-rounder surprised everyone when he sported a Lionel Messi’s Argentina jersey during a game of football at the start of the practice session at Sher e Bangla stadium on Tuesday.

The photos and videos of Shakib playing football wearing Messi’s Argentina jersey immediately went viral on social media. The Bangladesh captain was seen driving his car wearing an Argentina jersey in his locality Gulshan on the night after Argentina defeated France 4-2 on penalty shoot-out to lift the FIFA World Cup trophy on Sunday.

Cricketers playing football to warm up during the practice session is normal but they generally do that in the team’s practice gear. Shakib too was in Bangladesh practice jersey but he decided all of a sudden to put on the Argentina jersey over the Bangladesh jersey.

Bangladesh test captain’s fitness came under scanner after he bowled only 12 overs in the Test match in Chittagong which Bangladesh lost by 188 runs.

Senior batter Mushfiqur Rahim was seen having a long discussion with Team India Head Coach Rahul Dravid before the start of Bangladesh training. For the hosts to bounce back in the test series, both ethe senior batters need to fire.
