Martin Keown has hailed Arsenal’s attacking players Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard for their starring roles in Sunday’s 3-1 victory over Tottenham.
Smith Rowe, Aubameyang and Saka all got on the scoresheet within the first 35 minutes to take the game away from their laboured opponents at the Emirates Stadium.
Spurs got a consolation goal through Heung-min Son late on in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback from Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
The victory marked the Gunners’ third consecutive win in the league, putting them level with Spurs on nine points this season.
Arsenal legend Keown was particularly impressed with Arsenal’s forward players, admitting they could become a ‘famous four’ if they continue in their current vein of form.
He told BBC Match of the Day 2: ‘This is going to be a famous four if they keep playing the way they are, the kids in the team: Smith Rowe, Saka – brilliant. Odegaard’s vision and then Aubameyang in the mood, wanting to make runs off the ball.
On the second goal, scored by Aubameyang, Keown said: ‘A brilliant move, a give and go, Smith Rowe, no one going with him. It’s the same four. He was brilliant today, Aubameyang, but those youngsters around him, the energy. What a finish [from Aubameyang], never in doubt.
‘Emphatic the way they played. This is only the 12th game that Arteta has had at home with a full crowd, and there was a unity today, electricity in the ground.
‘And this young man [Saka] was at the forefront of everything they did – he’s the future of the club. It’s great to see the youngsters coming through the academy.
‘Smith Rowe talking about it, ‘it’s a dream’, now it’s a reality, they’re doing it in an Arsenal shirt and at a really high level.’
