Xtra Time Web Desk: The Indian men’s hockey team on Thursday scripted history at the Oi Hockey Stadium by winning bronze medal at Tokyo Olympics. Manpreet and his boys got the better of Germany 5-4 in a thrilling match that also saw them clinching an Olympics medal for the country after 41 years.

Manpreet Singh dedicated the historic hockey bronze to Covid warriors and frontline workers.

“This medal is for all the Covid-19 warriors and the frontline workers of our country,” said Manpreet after the match.

Simranjeet Singh (17th, 34th minutes) scored a brace, while Hardik Singh (27th), Harmanpreet Singh (29th) and Rupinder Pal Singh (31st) were the other goal getters for India.

Germany’s goals were scored by Timur Oruz (2nd), Niklas Wellen (24th), Benedikt Furk (25th) and Lukas Windfeder (48th).
