Virat Kohli scores 29th test ton in his 500th International match at Queens Park Oval | WIvsIND

Xtra Time Web Desk: Team India star batter Virat Kohli scored his 29th Test century during the second day of the 2nd Test against West Indies at Queen’s Park Oval on Friday, July 21. It was his 76 international hundreds across all formats. It was all the more special as Virat reached his hundred in his 500th international match.

Kohli resumed Day 2 at 87 not out and looked determined to reach the three-figure mark. He reached his hundred with a boundary off Shannon Gabriel when India’s score stood at 314-4.

This century holds significance as it is Kohli’s first international ton overseas since 2018, when he last achieved it during India’s tour of Australia in December 2018. Additionally, it marks his third century against the West Indies, surpassing 1,000 Test runs against them.

With this century, Kohli now boasts a staggering total of 76 international centuries across all formats in his illustrious 500-match international career. Alongside his 29 Test centuries, he has 46 ODI tons and one hundred in T20I cricket.
