Xtra Time Web Desk: Several fans will be deprived watching the first day of the fourth test between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium because the Prime Minister of the two countries will be attending the game. Both Narendra Modi and his counterpart Anthony Albanese will be in attendance to watch the first day’s play on Thursday, March 9.
Due to security reasons, several sections in the 1lakh capacity stadium will be not opened for spectators. Several Indian fans who wished to attend the first day’s play will be unable to do so as the tickets are not issued by the Gujarat Cricket Association because of security reasons.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will be on an official visit to India from March 8 to 11. During his visit, he will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will also watch the first day of the fourth test match in Ahmedabad.
As far as India’s record at the venue, the hosts won both the Tests played at the Motera ground since it was renamed the Narendra Modi Stadium in 2021.
Having retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the fourth consecutive time having won the first two Tests in Nagpur and Delhi, India were thrashed by Australians in the third test in Indore, leaving the series at 2-1 going into the final Test.
