Egan Bernal is already pedaling: "Never let anyone tell you that you can't do something"

Egan Bernal posted another heartwarming update to his Instagram page on Wednesday, this time spinning his legs slowly on a recumbent-style stationary bike. As the camera pans around to his back, large scars are visible down his spine. His dogs look on in approval, standing in for all of us.

The caption next to the post reads “Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something…”

Bernal perforated both lungs and suffering 20 fractures in a collision with a bus that almost left him paralysed just two weeks ago. Doctors initially indicated that their primary concern was not getting him riding again, but rather maintaining a good quality of life going forward. Subsequent surgeries all went well and Bernal has surpassed expectations with the speed of his recovery.
