With an opportunity to clinch the Big 12 regular season title in front of a great crowd at the Lloyd Noble Center, the Oklahoma Sooners women’s basketball team didn’t disappoint.
The Sooners fought back from multiple double-digit deficits, and Lexy Keys came through with the game-winning three-pointer with just seconds remaining on the clock.
The win was just the latest in the Sooners’ improbable turnaround during Big 12 play. They were 6-5 through nonconference, and coming off of a loss to Southern, the Sooners looked like this would not be their year.
And yet, Jennie Baranczyk and the Sooners flipped a switch when conference play began and never looked back. With one game remaining in the regular season, the Sooners are 15-2 in conference play and just clinched their second consecutive Big 12 title.
And they did so by beating the No. 3 team in the nation for the second time in a month.
The Sooners are on an incredible run and will be a force in the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments come March.
