In case you’ve lost sight of it, there’s a pretty cool event occurring on the shores of Lake Michigan Saturday. It’s another installment of the Ohio State vs. Michigan rivalry, but this time on the ice in an outdoor environment being called the “Faceoff on the Lake.”
The Buckeyes and Wolverines will do battle inside FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland and it should be one whale of a scene inside the home of the Cleveland Browns. And — at least from the Ohio State side of things — it’s being embraced with homage to the football program.
OSU will be wearing some pretty spectacular gear for the matchup, one that honors the Ohio State football teams from the 1940s, including the national championship-winning 1942 team. Take a look at what the Buckeyes will be skating in when they face off with TTUN Saturday afternoon.

Some might think it feels a little odd to bring football into the game of ice hockey, but it’s the threads that went into weaving together this little rivalry between two-old schools that share a state border.
I for one, am all about it.
