The Ohio State women’s basketball team didn’t quite accomplish its postseason goals this year and now must reload after losing a boatload of its experience and talent.
It got a huge piece of that puzzle on Sunday when the Buckeyes landed former five-star recruit and Oregon Ducks point guard, Chance Gray. The Ohio native averaged 13.9 points and three assists per contest last season during her sophomore campaign.
Gray transferred to Cincinnati Winton Woods High School for her senior season when she became a heralded recruit that never really looked at Ohio State, but seems to be ready to come home now.
The news comes as OSU loses a lot of players from its backcourt, most notably its leader and leading scorer, Jacy Sheldon, and four others. Getting Gray into the program via the portal gives the Scarlet and Gray a bit of a known commodity and infusion into the program.
So excited to be a buckeye!!

The news is OSU’s first portal add of the offseason and you can bet that there will be more efforts to try and keep the program among the best in the Big Ten and country.
