We’re down to 18 days until Penn State football, and Shaka Toney is the representative du jour.

Shaka surprised some when he returned for a redshirt senior season in 2020, and a heck of a season it was. Toney amassed 31 tackles to go with 5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, and a pass breakup. For his efforts, Shaka was named first team All-Big Ten by the coaches, media, and AP.

All-time, Toney logged 20.5 tackles, good for eighth at Penn State. Following his final season in blue and white, Shaka was drafted in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Washington Football Team, where he’ll look to stick at the next level.
