The Oklahoma Sooners are trending in a positive direction for 2026 four-star quarterback Dereon Coleman. In February, Oklahoma earned five predictions for the talented quarterback out of Florida. After taking an unofficial visit to Norman, the Sooners picked up two more predictions.
Steve Wiltfong of On3 and Josh McCuistion of SoonerScoop and On3 each predicted the Sooners to land Coleman. They join Rivals national and local analysts who believe the Sooners will eventually earn Coleman’s commitment.
Coleman spent the weekend in Norman with his quarterback trainer Baylin Trujillo. And if these new predictions are any indication, the unofficial visit went swimmingly.

Coleman is an athletic dual-threat quarterback but has a good arm. He throws with great accuracy and is able to make plays when under pressure.
Rivals ranks Coleman as the No. 4 quarterback in the nation for the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 132 player in the nation. He holds notable offers from Arkansas, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Pitt, SMU, UCF, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.
It’s still early in the 2026 cycle, so he could continue to see his stock rise over his final two years in high school. Though there’s a long time between now and when Coleman can officially sign his national letter of intent, the Sooners have put themselves in a strong position for the four-star quarterback.
