The former Bronco coach moves back to the west coast.

With the departure of Stacy Collins to Boise State, Penn State will enter the 2024 football season with three new coordinators. Collins, who coached the Broncos in 2021 and has spent the majority of his career in the West Coast, will return to Boise State with the same position, with additional “assistant head coach” responsibilities alongside his linebacker coach duties.

Collins came to Penn State in 2022, and almost immediately made an impact in special teams, finishing 28th in SP+ in special teams in 2023. Now, the Lions will look to replace Collins to complete the trifecta of coordinator hires coming into 2024.

Whether Penn State will promote from within or bring someone in from another program is yet to be known, but don’t expect this search to drag on for long, as we’re already midway into January, and winter workouts are right in front of us.

We wish Stacy the best in his new endeavors!
