Arsenal ready to sign highly-rated forward from direct PL rivals

Arsenal and Manchester United have both expressed interest in current Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis, according to his entourage Drew Uyi.

After joining the Vicarage Road side in the Premier League, he has already scored six goals and provided five assists.

Dennis signed a five-year contract with the club in the summer, but he could have moved to Arsenal or Manchester United if the Gunners or Red Devils had matched Club Brugge’s asking price.

The £25 million valuation slapped on the player, however, turned off the clubs, and Watford pounced with a cut-price deal worth just £3.4 million.

The Hornets were able to pull off the brilliant swoop after Emmanuel’s contract with the Jupiler Pro League expired, and Emmanuel has single-handedly saved the team from relegation.

‘Arsenal and Manchester United were both interested in him in the past, but Club Brugge demanded a ridiculous fee for him,’ the representative said on The Football Show YouTube channel.

‘They wanted £25 million, but these clubs were only willing to pay £15 million.’ Because his contract was about to expire, he ended up joining Watford for £3.4 million.

‘He was frustrated at Club Brugge; he was unhappy because no young man would be if such opportunities [as Arsenal and Manchester United] were denied to him.’
