Under the leadership of Faf Du Plessis, RCB endured a crushing defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 25 runs in a historic high-scoring clash at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Earlier in the match, SRH won the toss and elected to bat first, ultimately setting a new IPL record with their imposing total of 287 runs for three wickets. Travis Head’s scintillating century (102 runs off 41 balls) and Heinrich Klaasen’s powerful 67 contributed significantly to SRH’s commanding performance.

Notably, this record-breaking total stands as the second-highest ever recorded in a T20 match, falling just short of Nepal’s remarkable 314-3 against Mongolia in last year’s Asian Games. Despite RCB’s valiant chase, amassing 262 for 7, it wasn’t enough to surmount the formidable total set by Hyderabad, resulting in the highest-scoring T20 game in history with a combined score of 549 runs across both innings.
Looking ahead, SRH will face Delhi Capitals on April 20, while Du Plessis’ RCB is set to take on Kolkata Knight Riders on April 21 in their quest for redemption.
